Walker Furniture: Home for the Holidays

This year, Walker Furniture conducted their annual Home for the Holidays which helps provide 35 families in need with a houseful of brand new furniture in time for the holidays. The first six deliveries started on Friday, Dec. 13.

The remaining deliveries will be completed by mid-January.  Walker Furniture hosted a luncheon to announce this year’s recipients for the company’s 26th annual “Home for the Holidays” program where citizens nominated Valley families in need.  Helping Hands of Vegas Valley screened the nomination letters, and after narrowing the list down to 35 families were chosen by the Executive Committee to receive an entire houseful of new furniture.

More than 250 guests attended the luncheon including many local community leaders and media. Holiday entertainment was provided by headliner showman Clint Holmes, internationally renowned pianist/composer/arranger Christian Tamburr. 

A quartet of young ladies from the Nevada School of the Arts will perform, the Opportunity Village – Village Blend Choir also entertained the guests. A heartwarming video from last year’s Home for the Holidays deliveries was also displayed as more funds were raised to benefit families in need next year.
